Nice day outing. Great for younger children (age 1-10). It has a Roller coaster, Carousel, 5 small rides, mini golf & small 45 minute circus.

Kulturinsel, East Germany*

*This place is not near Basel (8 hours!) but it looks like a such an unusual fun place for a couple nights with kids  so it is going on our bucket list to tack on to a longer holiday in the region.
Surrounded by deep forests and sunny meadows, Germany's most easterly point is home to an unusual (if not crazy) amusement park with adventures to experience and touch - in the midst of nature. A park full of green graved adventure wilderness with over 500m underground burial passages , supernatural tree houses , fabulous magic castle and pets from all over the world . 

 Schongiland , Schongau

The adventure park offers lots of fun and adventure for the entire family. One of the highlights is the breathtaking 380 meter long toboggan: The only weatherproof toboggan of its kind. Additionally you will find a variety of fun for all ages. Bouncy castle, comet swing, Pedal Cars Course, bike track, water play, petting zoo, and more attractions here.

  • ​A small, very old amusement center can be found in Elsässerstrasse 3, 4056 Basel (Spielsalon Da Aurelio). possible they still have the arcade games. No website or FB page. Just found a phone number: 061 322 69 57
