Robi Volta

Description

Next to the public Voltamatte park is the amazing Robi Volta, one of the first Robinson playgrounds in Basel. This is a fenced in Robi Spiel park for children age  5 years and older to play in without parental supervision. Staff of the Robi are there to aid children with their play which includes building the play structures found inside or doing crafts or tinkering inside one of the buildings. The kids can create an ID and use it to check out fun peddle cars, bikes, more to zip around the park outside.

CONSIDERATIONS
For more than 55 years Robi Volta has been s a popular recreational gathering place for children and young people of the rear St John's cantonment. For this to continue, it is important that the following provisions are complied with :
  • The Robi offers children a free space without the usual supervision of parents , grandparents , etc.
  • A trained management team oversees the playground and supports the children in their daily activities on the site.
  • The playground has rules designed to protect the children of the land and of the material.
  • We do not tolerate verbal and physical violence.
  • The Robi playground is not a public park, not a parents meeting , no picnic place, not a self-service store and we strongly encourage not to deposit waste on the Robi.

  • *During the school holidays the Robi is open seven days a week and there are extended opening times (except during the summer holidays and during Christmas holidays partially closed).
